I don't have any penetration values for Palm ammunition, but I don't think they should be able to take out a PzIV.  :)

They arent tree's! They're the markers for small, extremely localized fields of anti-tank mines. You only -think- you hit the tree, when infact the mine took you out first. Yeah, that's it...

Tanks can run over trees in real life. Even very large hardwood trees.

As long as there isn't a basement  :) And, it doesn't pay to hit a tree in a tank or APC if you're going too fast.

Ahem... Bovine excrement.

Tanks can run over smaller trees and uproot some medium ones. They cannot run over large trees. Tipping the trees tends to bring up the root ball and that can high center the tank. Large hardwood trees can also present a SERIOUS obstacle to the tank and can damage it. There is a reason why very dense forrests are considered an obstacle to armored vehicles.

Got a M113 caught on a tree stump once in the reserves with just one track barely touching. Wasn't really supposed to be where I was at when it happened so it was a bit tense. Just spun it in circles though until it finally shifted off the stump. Soil quality also plays a big difference. Slowly rolling up on a tree in sandy soil brings them right down. Kinda feel bad now about needlessly dropping trees. Of course, you hit one at speed you have to rely on your aluminum armor track commander rim (that 1/2 inch of foam padding doesn't do much) to arrest your fwd motion -- not fun. Then there was the time I had a total brain fart and took a Major's Plymouth Horizon (small toejame box) out on a sandy tank trail to get from point A to B in an admin environment. What a handsomehunk move. I was barely able to get out of that one with a lot of low gear grinding once I saw my mistake.
