Seattle got a new Fullback?
« on: August 11, 2008, 11:57:03 AM »
Hey Rip, was following up on the Mountaineer Players who entered the Draft or got picked up in free agency.

Owen Schmitt looks like he got off to a good start, 2 Tackles on Special Teams, and 2 catches for 35 yards. Might have to start recording the Seattle games so I can watch him play  :aok
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

He looked good, but the guy that looked tremendous was Hawthrone. They call him "The Heater". He had 2 forced fumbles that the Hawks recovered.

I'm certain the Hawks will carry your boy and Hawthrone after the cut.  I'm hoping one of those two push Leroy Hill out of his starting LB position. He's not done much since our Superbowl run 2 years ago....

Edit: Oops, was thinking Schmidt was a LB.  Obviously he's a fullback.   He;ll have a tough time displacing Weaver and Duckett. Perhaps he'll get a back up position, special teams spot or scout team spot.

Ahh the powers of Youtube or possibly the beginnings of cult following. I didn't get to see the game, just the stats.

Holy crap! I was smoking jerky and catching bits and pieces of the DVR'd game Friday night, but I missed those two plays....nice! I'll show this to the oldest boy, he loves hitting like that. :)

Not a Chargers fan, but a football fan.   Last I heard Hooch, he was released because he had difficulty with learning Norv Turner's crappy offense.

Not a Chargers fan either, a Rams fan, but to release one of the best fullbacks in the game just doesnt make sense to me nor not one team picking him up.
