Just remember a golf course is just a good rifle range spoiled.
Oh please...  Alll good libertarians should love the game for it's individualism and intergrity.  You might wanna pick it up.

Anyway, my hamstrings are still sore (either from 4 hours of walking, or my bad driving swing!)

My dear fellow, I have just two words for you:  Golf Cart.

Recently *daddy* just gave me a golf cart, it's rather nice:

One has to be careful of the riff raff though....some strange man showed up with this abomination.  He called it a hot-rod cart.  I'm suggesting to the Club's board of trustees that he be baneed:

Oh, I like to hit golf balls from 200 yards. I use a .270 iron though.  :rock

Here is an update: My first 18 hole game after a 12 year lay-off I shot a 117.  :O
The 2nd 18 holes a week later I put away my driver and used a 3 iron to tee off with, took 17 strokes off my game (100)
My 3rd game I shot a respectable 96, though I made some bad judgement that I should have thought of before taking the shot (such as the typical "uphill lie" and "Downhill lie" philosophies)

Last Monday, while on vacation, I played 9 holes of golf, and shot a 39 (I had 1 birdie and two birdie opportunities).

Slow, but sure, my game is coming back. I need some serious help on my drivers though....

I've been working the hell out of my driver on the neighbors driving range, 3 days a week, no less than 150 balls per night. The best part is...my son has been working the hell out of his clubs too!  At the full sized driving range down the road, he's hitting the 200 yard marker with his 3 iron. (Not consistently, but for a 12 year old kid, credit is due!~)

Today I put away my 3 iron for tee off and dedicated the entire 18 holes (sans the par 3's) to my Titanium head, graphite shaft driver.  Took 12 strokes off my game and only had 1 drive where I hooked the shot severely into OB. I also had "trouble" with a sand trap whereas I went from one trap to the next, taking a 9 on a par 5.  Final score, 88. Slowly, but surely, I'm regaining my 14 handicap that I had 12 years ago, and have goals to reduce that in half by this time next year.   :aok

One thing I miss about South Florida (and cant wait to get back) is the number of courses. This last spring I was teaching kids on an executive course and playing in Naples once a month. Now its too hot for my old self to be golfing and it will be September at least before I can go again.

What kind of clubs are you using Ripsnort? My first clubs were freebies and then I upgraded to Wilson and then Callaway. Now Im using Louisville Golf clubs in persimmon. They dont have the control issues that the titanium clubs do and hit just as far.
Im partial to Winn grips steel shafts and Titleist balls.

My last boss would hit 116 on the front 9  :rofl and I found it really really hard to fake being that bad but you cant beat the boss (unless theres money on it).  :aok

Orlimars. Nothing fancy...perhaps when I improve my game, then I can justify go deep pocket for better clubs.

LOL about your last sentence.

Had 2 birdies today, but a triple and a couple of double bogies kept me out of the 70's. I ended up with an 84 (Par 72, High Cedars Golf Course in Orting WA).  Slowly but surely, coming back around after a 12 year lay off. First time out in June was a 118 and my last two outings have been 88 and 84 respectively.  :rock

Welcome back to the game we love to hate! I almost had a really good on a set of used clubs for you.  Played in my third ever tournament, it was a two day tournament at 2 different courses.  I swore off golf after 4 holes on Saturday, it was miserable.  Yesterday was much more enjoyable even though I didnt score that much better.  I ended up winning a little money though so It's not all bad.

I thought I had my game improved, my handicap has dropped 3 points in the last month and a half.  I sure didn't play like it though.  It is always fun though, kind of weird when you play these courses all year long and then they are totally different for tournaments.  I heard on one of the courses they had the greens running between a 12-13 on the stimp, which is crazy fast for a hacker like me  :O
