Obviously you got one of them best buy type techs giving you that BS!  Ask AKAK, he used to be a CH Techie and can attest that what you were told about compatibility is pure BS!  I've run CH gear since 1997 after trying lots of others and found that for the last 11 years, CH gear is the most robust and reliable set for AirWarrior through AHII.  I do recommend the powered hub and I calibrate everytime after entering an AH arena because my pedals are old analog pedals that I bought in late 1996 and use a gameport->USB adapter and they don't hold calibration well.  The Fighterstick USB and Pro Throttle USB could go for ages without calibration in AH.  I do NOT use the control manager software because I'm just too lazy to re-map everything to it.  I just mapped all my buttons and whistles using AHII stick mapping.

All the Best...

I guess I missed this post somehow..thanks Doc for the info.......I am heading out to buy me a new Gameport -to-USB adapter from Radio Shack like I had before .......

I made a new thread in Hardware/software forum asking a question regarding this very issue.......

Now, Homeboy......is it possible to convert a Combat Stick ( USB type ) to a Fighter Stick if I have the available parts? for the (2) Thumb 4 way hat switches,  instead of the Red Button & Grey Button,  like the Combat stick has?

( of course the available parts would be coming from an old Gameport Ch Fighter Stick )

You would have to have a FighterStick microchip.  If you try to use a CombatStick microchip, you will not have access to the extra switches even though you install the buttons.
