B-17 in the Air today?
« on: August 16, 2008, 06:59:48 PM »
I saw an interesting sight today....  Unfortunately I had to go into work this morning, however I did happen to look up in the sky and see a low flying B-17.  I work 7 miles outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.  I was thinking about EAA, but that had already been done for 2 weeks now.  Could it have been a plane flying back home from the show or would that have happened earlier??

Other than that, I don't know why it would be in the air.  Wait.. Chippewa Falls I think has an airshow so maybe it was a part of that?  Hmm, anyways it was very cool to see.  It was a good mile out, but it looked absolutely beautiful!

Any ideas of what Air Show it would have been apart of for any of you living in the Midwest?

I dunno, but on the way to our ROTC's Joint FTX last spring I caught site of a B-25 and a B-24 flying formation near San Marcus.  Less than 1,000 feet up and big beautiful birds, too.  Wish I'd had a camera. :frown:
