Combat Mission: New Operational Campaign add-on...
« on: August 17, 2008, 01:51:35 PM »
I don't know how many people still play CM:Barbarossa to Berlin, but they have been developing an operational level wargame that integrates CMBB to resolve the tactical engagements. Here's a preview of it (.pdf AAR on second page). It has a detailed supply model which makes for some interesting strategies - you need to stay connected to your depots and command structure to succeed.

It also allows 4 players to be involved in what amounts to a fluid, dynamic campaign.

I've been watching this one for at least 3 years, but it finally looks like it will come to fruition later this year.
War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.

That looks like a really good game, thanks for posting I'll be looking for that one.

If you're a hardcore strategist, I recommend taking a look at HPS Simulations Panzer Campaigns titles. About 9 months ago I stumbled upon the HPS site and bought all east front titles after doing some research on the games. Now I want the west front titles too, they are that good. I have yet to finish ONE grand campaign of these games and have not played through the first title, Smolensk '41. These games will keep you occupied for years.

Example of what the game map looks like.
