Doing me a favor??
« on: August 18, 2008, 05:51:05 PM »
I own a business. I have to have a lot of different vendors that do work for me.
Being a owner of a company for a short time, I can't believe how these guys feel they are
doing me a favor by doing my work.
Shouldn't be the other way around? I have run into this several times now.
Where do people get the attitudes?? I Don't understand it.
Is this the mentality of people today? This is not how I was brought up.
When I was young I bent over backwards to find work and do my best at it.
If the customer needed something, I was always ready to help!
 Is it just me??
See Rule# 5 on just about every thread!

People have attitudes, not going to change. Won't hurt to stroke them even if it's not deserved. Bottom line is are they doing a good job for you and at a reasonable price? If so, let them feel however they want.

Businesses can make a lot of mistakes and still stay in business.  They do sound like dummies though.

it's todays attitudes.

i get the same from some customers, and some suppliers. the suppliers it bothers me from. they think they're the only ones out there.

when i get that from them, i simply buy from someone else for a week, and the attitude goes away

I (not an owner but employee in a smaller business) deal with vendors...

ATT for example has been hosing us as our wireless provider. I ask where the phone I ordered 7-15-08 was today about 9 AM.

still no answer.

As a partner in a small business I totally agree.  My wife and I have a few clients that think they are the only clients we have.  One of them went even as far to say that when she calls, we "better answer, and then tell me that you are busy and you will get back to me", even if we are with another client at the time.

As for having people work for you...it all goes back to the old saying:  If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.

It sucks, but most people simply don't take pride in their work.

ferget AT&T......they suck.

i use T-Mobile, because they're the cheapest plans out there. Verizon i think does have the best networks, and reception. most of our local CAP members use verizon because of this.

ATT is the only service where I live that has a signal. Verizon has a dead zone in this area.

AT&T is as bad as the government. They suffer from departmentalization and it seems no one really cares about customer service.
