If you just mean as your home page go to Google then click Tools/Internet Options and under the General tab click use current.  Google will then be your home page.

If it's a toolbar you'll need to remove it in the control panal if theres not an uninstal option in a program folder under all programs.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

And in case it's the older version of Yahoo toolbar, it won't uninstall the common and advised ways, like ContronPanel\AddRemovePrograms or Start\(All)Programs\Yahoo or in the Internet Exploder\YahooToolbar\Settings\Uninstall... In that case go to the Yahoo website and find the toolbar installation button or link. Install the toolbar normally. Then uninstall it. :)

I fail to see why anyone would install a toolbar to begin with.
The only toolbar I need is my navigation toolbar that comes with the browser. And my bookmarks toolbar for my most visited sites.
And I dont even NEED that one

If its for the convenience of a search box and spell checker then you have a much better choice. Go with Mozilla Firefox, they have both along with much better security settings. :aok

No problem.

Another great feature of Firefox is it's ability to hold true to your wishes. For example, I ask it to dump data of websites visited 1 day ago. As opposed to IE, it does just that saving me lots of HD space. Now if it were I.E. I would have to run a file sweeper to clean up all the junk.

You dont even need the search box in either firefox or explorer.
If you type in a word in the address  box, Say type in "WWII" instead of "http:/WWII.com"
I get search results and not taken to a webpage.

Toolbars add more bloat to an already bloated operating system.

Denholm, you can tell IE to dump the contents of the temp folders when it exits and you can tell it to clean out its cache folder anytime you like.  It's all in the "Internet Options" panel.

And if you really want to clean thigns out, then run the "Disk Cleanup" wizard in Accessories->System Tools.  It has an option for purging any temp download files.
