An idea for the Mission Planner...
« on: May 26, 2001, 03:51:00 PM »
Would be very useful for saved missions if when ya pulled a saved mission up, the launch field would default to the field of the maproom you're sitting in, rather than the field of the maproom where ya saved the mission originally. Then the only real change you'd have to make after pulling up the saved mission woould be the title of the mission, and/or description before using it.

This would save time, don't know how much trouble it'b be too program, just an idea.

It would be better if you could just edit a flight group's start field and waypoints and then "Apply to all Groups"

As it is now, I almost never bother with putting in the waypoints becuase you have to do it for each group. If you have 4 or 5 groups, you're talking about almost 10 minutes of editing. By that time, the base you were going to assult may already be destroyed or captured.

It would be nice to have easy/quick waypoints could be set for missions.

I have only played little with the mission functions.  Is there a way to limit who can join?  As an example, if I wanted to do a squad mission, I only want people from the squad taking the positions.

hblair this has sparked an idea.

could we please also have a waypoint system that shows time to waypoint.By this i mean if i choose a flight of b17s and choose the first waypoint as climb at 140mph it would give me an estimate of time to fly there.
this way coordination of different speed flights would be much easier. As it is you either have to fly it and time it or guess it.

i like the idea of defaulting to the field your at too, hblair
