Combat Theatre Feed back II

The first one was imploding.

I am looking for suggestions to improve the arena, not suggestions on how people should fly.

1. Radar tower only, (yes that would take a change in the code), but it does not hurt to ask.

2. A theatre change every two weeks or less. Actually a rotation between all our historical terrains every Friday would be nice.  :)

3. Until we acquire some more advanced strat allow field capture. Some have suggested making it more difficult and I am all for that. Requiring 30, 40 or more troops to capture a field. A small change like that would require some squadrons to work together.  :)

4. A page on the HTC site where players can view all their scores and a free account to those who have flown a Seafire and lived.  ;)

5. Concentrate the plane set to mid and early war. With a larger plane set we would not need so many terrains (not that having them is a bad thing)  :)

Other ideas?

#2 and #5 are my favorites but I agree with all of your ideas.

My .02?

#1: Radar in tower?  Yes! For where bar indicators are not "on"?  In other words I wish the map grid were 4X's as large ad they are so that they mark four times the geographical area they do now. This way bar indicators can still represent a certain number of aircraft but it the area would be 100square miles verusus 25 and they would be a harder to search for Then once over friendly territoy the radar could work but there would be NO bar indicator at all.

#2: yes. variety!!  :)

#3: Yes, for smaller maps. No for current one. So geographical distance linked? It should be harder than the MA to grab a Ca base. This reinforces cooperation and team work. Which is historical.

#4: <shrug> I don't watch points.

#5: same as #4. I'll fly whatever is there regardless of era or time. Usually I select the under dog plane, a plane I do not fly much of or one that is harder to master (for myself). I also usually join the  side with the lower numbers so I'm not even "side" biased.

Glad to see the discussions!!

start with a smaller map until the numbers grow to require a larger one.

great room but too much ground to cover when there is less than a dozen planes total in the arena - after all, its "Combat Arena" not "Fly & Snooze Arena"  :)
You are limiting the ppl numbers with the increased difficulty, add to that, flying forever just to find a fight ... will keep many more out.

Couldn't care less about score, but those all sound like fine ideas to me.  Getting all those goonies organized could be fun!   :)

Like em all

As a further addition about field captures requiring more troops, set a time window in which those troops must be dropped, not so long that 1 guy can make 3 goon trips.  From the time the first troops hit the map room, the team has 15 minutes to get the required # of troops in to make the capture.  If they take 16 mins to get the last troops down, too bad.  This would enforce multiple goons inbound to the target.
