Nice.  I am glad to see the Il-2 get the NS-37 as an option.  It should help with the Ostwinds and Wirblewinds as well as keep the IL-2 viable against heavy armor.

Am i seeing 3 x tailguns?

(Image removed from quote.)

They're not side by side, the tubes you are seeing are stacked on top of each other. Kind of like an AK-47s gas collection tube. They work something like that, would be my guess. Or they have bolt springs in them, or something.

The one closest to the gun barrel is obviously a gas tube... but I don't know what the topmost is.

Have to say, it's going to be interesting aiming those big 37mm guns, considering instead of a gunsight it has a 'shoot somewhere in this circle' thing on the windshield.

Yeah, STUKA!

12 rds per gun?  Did the G-2 drop the 20mm to mount the 37mm, or did it keep them on the D-5 frame for the G variant?

The 20mm wing mounted cannons were not retained from the G-2 variant that were upgraded from D-5 air frames.

hmmmm....

Will IL-2 Type 3M fire its NS 37mm cannons the same way like the Hurri 2D's 40mm Vickers to hit ground targets?

Same 37mm as the Yak-9T right?  Just with AP ammo instead of HE.  One would assume the same rate of fire and ammo load per gun on the IL-2 with the 37mm...

So, is this going to be a whole new Il2 or is our current one being replaced?
I like the idea of adding it as a variant, kind of flesh out the Russian planeset a little.
Next up we need the Yak3! :aok
