in cell transformation.  This article is about turning pancreas cells into insulin prodcing pancreas cells.

Maybe not "cured" but that's still amazing that they were able to cause transformation into functioning beta cells.
Although the technique is a good ways off from being ready for primetime use, this is an incredibly important milestone.
Stay tuned, I bet we'll be hearing more about this.

I have type 2 diabetes so when I saw that pancreas cells had been transformed into insulin producing cells I saw a cure.....but the freakin mice didn't get cured.  :cry

I think it's a great first step. Just because the first experiment didn't cure the mice doesn't mean that additional work won't effect the cure. To me it looks more like a fine tuning issue now rather than an exploration to a possibility.
