You guys keep in mind their would be air support lifted before ground attack starts with F4's F6's and so on.
Yes, but typically LVT's are left to fend for themselves in-game. They, at least, are armored and fairly well armed. Higgins boats, on the other hand, are wooden, unarmored, lightly-armed targets.

Higgins boats definately go faster then LVTs.As for getting troops in let them have 20 and have mass boats landing on the shore just like on D-day and all the other land invasions

Yeah, half again as fast. And if you're gonna drop troops, go for all 36. The next step would be to have the troops actually fight. :aok

with LST, instead of spawning @ shore like LVTs do, ud choose LST or Tank from CV hanger. Then
it would spawn u @ the Fleet like a PT in the LST(with Tank as cargo) and you drive the LST to shore.
when u beach the LST and open the door, it switchs you to the Tank driver seat and you drive out
on to land. when your tank leaves the LST, it vanishes.

It makes sense, especially from the single-player aspect. Having an LST with onboard players is problematic, especially for whoever is driving the LST once the tanks are ashore...go back to the CV?

I like the morphing idea...course, at that point, we could just use Duplex Drive Shermans.

So you're suggesting we add drowning as well? :uhoh

It would get rid of the camouflage problem with the Shermans. Green tanks in blue water...

The problems encountered with the DD tanks at Normandy wasn't with the actual tanks. In theory, and in practice, they worked fine.

The heavy losses of the DD tanks were a result of high seas and missed drop points. Instead of the DD tanks going straight into the beaches (with the waves), they missed the drop point and had to approach the beaches at 45-75 degree angles. As a result, the waves were striking the DDs broadside, which resulted in their foundering.

Since we don't have swells or waves in AH, DD Shermans would work fine.

I find this could be incredibly fun, but more like this.

like making a mission but only on CVs
Higgins will be a CPU
select witch GV you would like to take and what payload
manable guns as well
max amount of troops are **** allowed
then a start button or timer
when missions done the Higgins would either have to be destroyed or return to the fleet....

That way we have large numbers and poss a much larger threat as in DDAY..
with this compared with LVTS and beach defences (whatever they may be) could be fun and interesting...

They weren't wooden and I know they had 1 50. Cal,If I'm mistaken I think some had the same cannon as a LVT please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

But it is a good idea
