CM duty clarification (all players please read)
« on: September 02, 2008, 05:23:47 PM »
The CMs do not assign aircraft in FSO, that is up to the frame CiC. I have had a few emails asking for me to provide info re: what ride a squad will get. I cant answer that as its not my role. Im just the designer.

Just for info, I don't mind being asked questions, but I thought it would be helpfull to announce this. Cya up there.

Looks like I'll be CIC for the LW in two frames this run.  Jester had to step down and Shifty will be available to help in the planning, but not the flights.  :O

All I really need is a "who's who" list of the LW and what their primary and secondary ride requests are, so I can place them where they'll be most effective...

Here's the pick list.  Choose wisely. ;)

Axis (Luftwaffe):

Bf 109G-6 (max 48)
Bf 109G-2
Fw 190A-5 (max 36)
Bf 110G-2 (min 24)
Ju-87D Stuka (min 24)
Ju-88A-4 (min 12 *players*) with formations optional.

Rules and Restrictions:

All aircraft types must be used in all three frames with a minimum of 12 players per type unless otherwise stated. Bomber formations are enabled and CiCs should note they cannot be rearmed on a pad if used with formations (Aces High game restriction).  All normal FSO rules apply.

According to side assignments, you are only CiC Frame 2.

The Raw Prawns are CiC frame 3.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

AH Events has the ride requests for each squad, for each frame.  It makes it much easier than sending out emails to everyone--just a recommendation.

However not every squad gets the side they request and therefore their ride choice is not valid. IMHO it's still a good idea to send out ride requests. In addition, squads may want to change their choices in succeeding frames based on what they may have flown the previous one.

Ride choices can be updated any time.  So once assigned a side and the side preference information / commitment level etc. are locked down, you can still change your ride preference.  This was a change put in about two months ago.

If odee gets frame 2 and raw prawns 3 then who is supposed to do frame 1?

Also about the objectives if you use a .txt file you need to hit enter, otherwise it can confuse the most computer savy people.

Like ForHim said, the AH Events site can compensate for all of the above hypothetical situations you mentioned.  He's taken the time and effort to build the site and write the code; I think we should use the capability.  When I'm CIC, its all I look at.  No sense in duplicating effort, IMO.

I should also note that Daddog has been updated the 332nd's ride preferences as we go through the frame.  So for last go round, he indicated what we flew in frame 1, and then put the preferred choices for frame 2 & 3, then updated again after the second frame.  A little more work for the squad leadership, but maybe it makes the life of the frame CIC easier.
