Yes! Good idea. I would love to see this in the game. As for the frame rate issue, make it an option so you can turn it off.

It would be better if the alt was lowerd to like 9 or 10k 25k is to high for the contrails.

You my friend, must not participate in rook raids. That's minimum bombing alt. Ask the knights  :devil.

fram rate would stink for us loe end players  :cry

If Your PC cant handle contrails you shouldn't be playing if we have FIRES,FUEL LEAKS, RADIATORS....

all you need to do is add a thin large smoke trail behind engines

The only real difference is you can't see the fuel leaks, fire or radiator leaks from the ground when the plane is at 25k. We should be able to see the contrails if it is to have any of the realistic quality the folks wanting it are seeking. :aok

The new question is how do you determine a fuel leak from a contrail they would be the smae color in game... One bigger than the other change colors, or make them realistic and have it lagg a few meters behind the planes?

just some thoughts

I'm not sure that it would matter too much, really.  The only person that should be worried about a fuel leak is the pilot! :P

Also, it'd be real easy to tell on those 4 engine bombers, as I've never seen an aircraft with 4 fuel leaks that was still flying... yet...

True, that would be awesome, but that would totally give away the P-38 Lightning's presence in the game (The dual engines caused some contrails that were dead giveaways to ground crews that a bomber raid was coming in Germany) Still, t'would be coll to see.

Wingtip contrails from high-G maneuvering would be a nice touch too :)

if you hear a loud crack you should check the damage report anyways
