Vista 64 - DXDiag 64

Skuzzy I noticed Vista still reports I have a 7950 installed instead of the 8800. I dont know if that makes a difference but do you make anything of this?

They may use the same family of video chip.  The NVidia driver is the one responsible for providing that data to DirectX.  Of course, it vould be yet another bug in the Vista NVidia drviers as well.

I uninstalled the drivers (which hung up and caused a blue screen as usual) again and cleaned the system of all nvidia drivers before reinstalling the 175.19 drivers for Vista 64. DXDiag reported the same thing (7950 card name and 8800 chip type) so again I uninstalled (blue screen) and cleaned the system. EVGA has a newer (non-WHQL) driver out 177.79 for Vista 64 so I installed that. Vista balked of course because of the non-signed drivers but DXDiag reports 8800 card name and 8800 chip type. Have to recommend staying away from generic NVidia drivers henceforth.

AHII smooth as silk now.
Crysis smooth as silk and compared to 7950 AND 175.19 drivers the water/fire effects are much smoother.
FSX smooth as silk at max settings but DX 10 preview screws up addon skins and antialiasing/filtering (still havent figured out where to get help/suggestions with FSX).
