Last night was a murderous night of play.
I happened to be flying for Knight and early on in the evening, with only 23 players (versus Bish 39 and Rook 35), we managed to take back a lot of territory. Teamwork is a unique thing in Aces High. When a bunch of people commit to making an effort (regardless of team) to take some bases, its amazing how fast they can steamroller in.
Yet last night, it turned and became almost unsporting.
By 9PM EST Knight had 29 guys while Bish had 68 and Rook was in the high 40s. Now I know some of you read this as a whine, but when you have nearly twice as many people than the other team, one would ponder fairness. But I didnt see much of that. Knight got squished like a pesky zit most of the evening by Bishop. And while I still found the whole experience immensely entertaining (me and my poor Lanc...I was often up against 7 or 8 fighters all by myself!), part of me thinks some joining players should have parted sides to even things out.
Most of the time, the teams are fairly balanced. But when its 68 to 23, come on guys...pick on someone your own size

There are days I wish Aces automatically placed you on a team to balance things out...yet there are others when Im glad to have the chance to pick. I have no allegence to any one team...they all have their moments. I've seen Rook really rock the board for a few days with some great teamwork. And I've seen it fall apart when 2 players demand the forces be focused on defense, while another wishes to take more turf despite the assault on their turf. And its not just rooks, as you all know, all the teams have their days.
I'm just striving for some fairness amongst the players. I stuck with Knights since they were sorely under-manned..and I had hoped others would have traded sides to even things out. Didnt happen last night, maybe another time?
