"Trek"&"Wars" Online
« on: September 05, 2008, 12:22:51 PM »

Besides being having a deep interest in WWII history and gaming,I've also
been a bit of a "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" fan. Im familiar somewhat with
the online- community games they have had. Anyone playing these currently?

How's the quality of the experience in these?  The new "EVE" also looked promising.

Wait for KoToR 3 to come out. (That is Knights of the Old Republic 3) because it will put star wars galaxies out.
But if you dont want to wait, star wars galaxies is a pretty good game, lots of fun very addicting.

KoTOR was great, but I was rather disappointed in KoTOR2.  I hope they don't rush release KoTOR3 like they did the second.

I can save you time and money. Run on a treadmill while I kick you in the balls repeatedly.

That's a good as EVE gets.

I played SWG for about 1.5 years and quit after the NGE.  I recently went back and have found that alot of problems have been addressed.
And weapons crafting is once again challenging.  More people have come back to the game over the past few months.  Check it out.

As far as KotOR putting SWG out of business we shall see.  if KotOR is just another narrow minded combat game with no other interests being served it wont put
SWG out of business.

Im watching STO sharply as well.  That could be the online sci fi game of the decade!

If you decide to try SWG out, come to the sunrunner server and shoot me an email...Dalman

I can load you up with enough credits to make starting out comfortable and a swoop to get around with.

There is only one game worth checking out right now, and it comes out Sunday.

My kids still play KoTOR, but ditched KoTOR2 right away. They're not even waiting for 3 to come out.  They want to just stick with the original.

I played SWG about 3 times over the first 18 months it was out.  I played it for 4 months after it was first released.  Running everywhere sucked but it wasn't bad.  I would have kept playing but a lot of my RL friends stopped playing and playing MMO w/o people you know sucks.

Time #2 I lasted about a month and was bored.

Time #3 I again started up with a bunch of people I knew.  This is when doctor's were raping all the money with their 10K buffs for hunting raids on Dantooine (sp).  But, a lot of people were on the free trial period and never subscribed.  So just when our group got a good city running, everyone quit.  So did I.

SWG was a good game, but needed more time to develop.  It was out of the gate before WoW and WoW excelled in a lot of places SWG didn't.  I did try WoW for two weeks and thought it was boring.
