<snip stuff about socialism and tie-in with costs>

anorexic people cost everyone money under socialism.. skydivers and general aviation people cost everyone money under socialism.. people who like to swim cost us all money under socialism..

None of these things would cost us a cent without socialism.  It would be between them and their insurance or bank.

You're right on the mark here. As long as there is a cost that's passed along, the government will have to do a couple of things. One is to raise money which means heavier taxation. Another is to attempt to minimize costs - which, in this country, means laws against activities that ought to be one's own business. Forbid the activities, lower the costs. Then use surplus money on some blackhole project.

The upside of social-capitalistic systems are an extensive security net and the opportunity even for those who've either made huge mistakes or been unfortunate in their choice of parents to actually create a good life. Of course the percentage of people that seizes the opportunity provided is relatively low, given that a comfy life is provided anyway.

Actually I did get what you said.
I just didnt want you lumping me in with those that think there should be some sort of law or something preventing them from eating themselves to death.

On the other hand. what I was saying was be it through federal funding.
Or our insurance premiums.
The money for their obesity comes out of our pockets either way.

What are insurance companies other then privately owned social programs.

Exactly my point.

One way or the other,. no matter if we like it or dont.
We are all involved in socialized health care.

Unless you have the VERY deep pockets to pay 100% of your own way no matter what happens.
As many of us know first hand. Medical bills can add up to the tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars VERY quickly and without warning.

Unless you figure nothing will ever happen to you.

Then again. I never figured on contracting Hodgkins disease 15 years ago. Nor did my brother in law figure on getting Legionnaires disease 6 months ago. Nor did my mother in law currently dieing from bladder cancer and basically being gutted like a fish with all her female organs removed as well as her bladder ever figure she might contract that or have to go through that.

Well, if they actually paid on a policy without 14 denials and a threat of a lawsuit, that would be true. What 'insurance companies' have become is something more along the lines of thieving rat bastard cretin corporations designed to fleece the public with minimum risk and maximum return to their 'shareholders' who; for the most part are just enjoying the 'wow' factor of getting rich on scaring folks into betting against themselves... twice.

...at home, or abroad.

:salute YOu said it.  It is a business run at the expense of our trust in them. I have two sons with medical issues and fight the insurance company every month to get them paid.
