I think something needs to be done to make the PT more useful. Right now, it's only good for acting as an AA picket, which is in no way realistic, or a point-defense craft for ports. Since the PT's have to spawn next to the CV, it takes hours to motor along from the spawn point to the target. Even in the case of opposing fleets close to each other, at about 10k it would take 15 minutes for the PT to get into position to attack the ships.

One solution for this is to allow PT's to spawn at bases within a certain distance of the shore, or to have a system similar to vehicle spawning that places the PT a certain distance away from the carrier.

Yes!  I like both ideas.  PT's are so cool, we need to get them more involved in the game.  I'd really like to see two groups of PT's duke it out.

Yes, PT boats need more spawn points!  PLEASE! As it is now, they're hardly involved in 'the war'.

Every base even close to shore should have a PT spawn point IMO

I agree. We can call that element of the game, "Aces Dry".

I agree, would love to see more PT boat spawn points. Any V Field or A field within close sight of water should have them.

How about locating some strat targets so PT's could hit them?

Maybe a dock with a fuel/ammo dump for shoreline fields?

Maybe a "commando" loadout for PT's that could capture a dock?

I posted this before, but here I go again...

I would like to see fuel issues brought about in the fleet. Long long range, let's say 2 allround trips around the whole map, but not unlimited. And let them refuel on any friendly port.

Hehehe, can you imagine a fuel-depleted fleet just merrily floating outta the middle of nowhere?....hmmm...tug boats in AH?

nevermind, bored at work

I don't know if having CV fuel restrictions would work... if HTC implemented that, people would demand fleet replenishment ships  . Plus the map isn't that big...

Commando loadout for PT's is a good idea! They should create some kind of ocean-based strat target, like a supply convoy, that has some kind of strateigic effect if sunk. That would make PT's actually worthwhile.. right now it's just rediculous, PT's are like the Ostwind of the water.

How about regular troop loadouts untill the LVT is implemented.

You could release them near shore, and although they need to run several hundred yards to the target, they could make it.
