Why do republicans accuse anyone with a different point of veiw, of being a libral, even thou they know nothing about them.
I'm a conservative Republican (some much of the GOP is NOT), I readily pronounce this, why can't you say you're a liberal? (OK, mebbe you're NOT one, you merely assume all the positions of one in here )

Ok, as a conservative, tell me what you'd like to see our country become.

Rather then try and insult me.

I don't insult YOU, just the things you state (unless 'liberal' is an insult, in which case, you oughtn't talk like one)
In short, I'd like to see our country become LESS like a European country, as libs seem to think that is something to look up to. (Were that so, WHY are SOOO many people from THERE trying to emigrate to HERE?) There is a cultural fight on in our country right now, between those who wish us to be more a socialist/mommy-state country, and those who wish us to continue in the path our Founders had in mind, a path which makes us the most unique country on Earth

Just to expand on this why do liberals take being called liberal an insult?  I've been called a conservative many times. Each time I thank the person doing it.

Well, I'm not a liberal, I'm not an ultra conservative either. I value a more central position on our nation. I'd like less government overall, I'd like to see corprate lobbying made illegal, and I'd like term limits on all elected officials. I'd like to see the end of abortion and I'd like to see us out of NAFTA, I want our borders secured and Social security fixed. I want a strong military that is not put in harms way without good cause.

I want our heathcare system fixed, I want English as our national language. i want our public schools to be worth attending, i want fair honest banking laws. many other things i want to see, some may be liberal some may be conservative, neither end is to far left or right.

I want to be able to discuss my views with someone who may disagree with out being labled or insulted, and i want our leaders to act the same.

You may agree with some of my thoughts and disagree with others, or disagree with all of it, that's OK, THATS what our founding fathers had in mind, Our way of government is based on the argument, free to have an opinion with out fear of being ridiculed for it. we would make some horrible choices if we all agreed.

The problem we have in washington is that insults and BS are the topic of the day, dirty tricks and half truths.

No one is 100% right,we make better policy thru discussion then we do thru intimidation and insults.

Your comments sound well thought out and reasonable, right up to where you make the "Hope your bright enough to do the same" comment. This is the attitude of the republican party in all there dealings with those that may be less then supportive of them, It is arrogant and alienating. And after the last 8 years they haven't much to be arrogant about.

I have yet to decide who I will vote for, I'm waiting for McCain to tell me what he plans on doing as president.

Other then insult and attempt to discredit Obama, what exactly is McCain for, what does he plan on doing to fix the countrys problems, and if he does have a plan why don't he and the GOP spend time talking about that, rather then slinging poo.

If you actually perused the issues, followed the facts, used your own brain you'd come to a reasonable decision... for you. Hence the 'bright enough to do the same'. But, seems like instead of actually informing yourself and thinking about the consequences of your professed intended actions, your just annoyed at me for pointing out that a turd is about to land in your cream of wheat.

Would you like a bigger spoon?

Ummmm... McCain is more of an independent than a republican. Palin eats republicans.

Now, I'm a pro-choice, anti religion, anti corporate pro constitutionalist registered independent. I think Ron Paul makes Barr look like a dolt. And, I don't think the independents can field an electable ticket. I do know that a democrat in the white house with a democrat dominated congress and 2 supreme court justice appointments coming up would be very, very bad for my interests.... and I'd say McCain-Palin is a pretty good chess move to slow down the federal slide to socialism. Show me an Independent ticket that's electable, can stop or hinder the democrats and marginalize right wing republican neocon policies and I'll vote for it.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to watch 'Sarah America' send the demo's into a frothing frensy with much approbation and amusement. And I'll compromise on the lesser of the two weevils on election day. Hope your bright enough to do the same.

<S!>

Wait a sec, if you are "a pro-choice, anti religion, anti corporate pro constitutionalist registered independent", I would think you would want a democrat picking two seats on the supreme court just to keep abortion around, if your anti-religion i don't think you'd want conservatives making the choice.

If you are "PRO-choice" and "ANTI religion" Why would you not like the Dems?

I would have to think you would like Dems, what am I missing here, thats something I have in common with most conservatives I've met, that I am anti- abortion. I'm not very religious but I'd lean that way sooner then not.

Did you miss type that statement or would you explain it, (not being a smart azzz, just want to understand you)

also because the opposite of pro choice is pro life which might not be all that terrible!
and the Christians stoped going around killing people over religion a good while back
so if you don't want religion , they don't make you go to church,
but the Dem's will make me pay more taxes, they will take away more of right to choose by expanding gov.
socialism doesn't work! yet they will try to force it on us!

on the plus side for the Dem's., i guess there will be more porn for me too watch :aok

oh, and as far as independents pulling hard for Republicans and being against democrats, not this time, at least Obama never joined a political party dedicated to seceding from the union. Ck out the Alaska independence party that Palin was a member of.

If that had a grain of truth mixed in it, it would be a big plus as far as I`m concerned.
But it does not.
Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.
