I’d like to offer several ideas for consideration.

First are two additions to the status section on the clipboard.

1. Status of town, i.e. destroyed or not
2. Status of ack

As any goon driver knows, it is sometimes difficult to get this information from team mates and it can be frustrating to drive troops for 10 minutes only to be killed by ack or not able to drop because town is still up. And I find it hard to see if all the town buildings and ack are down when in an M3.

Second suggestion: It’s currently possible to disable troops at fields by bombing the barracks to cut off capture by a c47 or M3. But there is no way to disable troops in a task group, short of killing all the boats or killing carrier and waiting for the task group to disappear. So it’s hard to stop almost endless LVTs when an enemy task group is close to a field. What about having one of the smaller boats be a “troop boat”? Killing the “troop boat” would disable troops for the task group.

I agree that it can be frustrating trying to get good intel from your team mates, but I think it is just part of the game, and doesn't need a fix.

As for a troop ship, it is so easy to kill the carrier now, I don't really think it needs to be made any easier to discourage fleet ops.
