Trees and GV's

OK...we all know 'bout the problem with the killer trees...right?

Here's another thing about them...

When driving a GV and you see a plane's dot 5K out what can you do? He sees you at that distance but even with all those killer trees around there is no place to hide your icon or dot from him. Sure, you can try and hide behind a SINGLE tree when he makes a straifing run but since the trees only appear at relitivly short distances, they are of no use in hiding your icon at distances where the trees don't appear to the attacker.

Given the fact that in a GV and within the tree "line" the trees have to be avoided, shouldn't the trees afford some sort of cover for GV's so they can't be seen at longer distances from the air?

Ground to ground visuals are a different story and IMO aren't affected nearly as much.

Maybe after some time, we'll get to actually see 'forests', 'roads' and 'plains' aspect of current terrain  :)

Trees wouldn't be just randomly scattered across the earth like some close-up pic of a shaved chin.. they might be grouped tightly together providing cover from visual scan and air attacks, but would hold very little space to maneuver for a GV driver..  :) (Of course, it would be pretty dark for the GV driver, like as if he was under cloud front  :)

And cutting across these forests, we'd might be able to see roads, enabling the GVs to move faster than usual, but very open and vulnerable to air attack.

 ..

 Ardennes anyone?  :D
