"I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."

– John McCain, in reference to Hillary Clinton's health care plan, 2007

The pig McCain was talking is the huge inflated social program Hillary and Obama want to inflict on us. It is a pig. The crowd Obama was pandering to got his meaning instantly.

I want to see Palin do a serious interview as soon as possible, but at the same time, let's be serious.  With the way the media has treated her so far, she will have to be the most prepared candidate for an interview probably in the history of politics, because they're gonna come after her with the biggest load of gotcha irrelevant questions you've ever seen.  It will be more of the same.  So she has to damn well have every single solitary base of anything imaginable covered, totally, so they can't "get her" on some trick question.

Plus why should she run out to meet the media after the way they have treated her so far?  I say stick it to the ilk for a little bit longer.  It's not the media's right to question her, it's the American people's right to know who she really is.  An all out smear campaign of the lowest order is not a fair way to introduce any candidate.  There's a reason it's backfired on the media so far.

It's not the media's right to question her, ...

It's the media's responsibility to question her. It comes with the territory of running for office. If a VP candidate can't take that heat, they need to get out of the kitchen

... or get back to the kitchen in her case.

Ah you replied with what I hoped someone would... responsibility, not right.  The difference in language implies a huge difference in how they go about the process.  They have so far utterly failed in that respect.

I could care less about the polls. I've never followed them. I'm all about the facts. The debates are what the undecided voter is going to go off of. The political bases of both parties are already gathered in....now we wait to see how the undecided voter will react.

If that was actually true....then you would already have your answers concerning Palin. You haven't asked anything here about her that isn't already available on the 'net and hasn't already been discussed on these boards.

“You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called ‘change,’ it’s still going to stink. After eight years, we’ve had enough of the same old thing. It’s time to bring about real change to Washington and that’s the choice you’ve got in this election.”

- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Tuesday

Yeah, he's the REAL PROBLEM as are the rest of the Democratic Controlled Congress in DC.   Wait, after 6 years it's "We just got in here and cannot do anything."   I hear it a lot in Michigan from our POS Dem. Governor Jennifer "I have two cheek nipples" Granholm.

BTW, I'm not a "Conservative".   I'm for neither Party, but Obama is HARDLY the "answer".

Hey! lets make fun of what people don't look like.  Perhaps that is the way to pick a president.

'She should be held accountable!'!

Well, since your obviously not voting for her.. here's the 'Accounting'.

5'-10" 138lbs, 38 - 24 -38, D cup. Shoots. Flys. Runs a State. Eats Moose and Corrupt Politicians. Liberals hate her.

What else you need to know?

How about:

  • International experience. What's her experience dealing with international issues, leaders and people
  • Knowledge of global economy. What background does she have and on what basis would she be able to judge the impact of the policies she intend to implement? Specialist helpers are all well and good but any leader needs a strong background if he/she is not be reduced to a puppet
  • Military experience. Putting a n00b civilian in charge of the military is basically the same as putting a total n00b biker on a GSX-R 1000. Sure, the n00b has some ideas, but no real clue.
  • Religious background, and amount her faith influences her decision making. The US is not a theocracy like Iran and big decision must be based on reasoning, not faith. There's a separation between the state and religion (albeit a rather weak one) for a reason. I need to know that I got someone to whom critical thinking is an integral part of their decision making process
  • Views on foreign policy, views on domestic economy. Thoughts about how to deal with the huge national debt that just keeps getting bigger

This is just a very small list. The questions also apply on McCain, Obama and other key players. What's disturbing is that the average Joe doesn't care one bit about it because of the smoke and mirrors tactics used by both sides. "Ooh look shiny thing!".

I don't know maybe she could answer why she thinks she qualified for VP. Her support of that Alaskan secessionist group. Her initial support of a so called "pork barrel" project and then changing her mind about the project.....she ended up keeping the money and used it on other projects. The abuse of power accusations. Her foreign policy experience.

All of these questions are relevant and she should be held accountable.

Uh, why havent they asked Obama these questions?
