In 1977, my family was trapped on Key West in our van, when Hurricane Babe started and moved West.   This was before going to DisneyWorld.   It is one of my earliest recollections as I was 4 years old and remember it, like it happened yesterday.

Just a question to HTC. The way it looks it seems that the hurricane is going to hit Texas. My question is If the hurricane dose get close and HTC members have to leave will the game still be up? And is there any chance that some how the game could go down because of the storm.

 :salute

Dude, HTC is like 400 miles inland, I seriously doubt it. If they were having to evacuate, I'd have to do it first as I live much closer to the sea than them.
No one knows what the future may bring.

I was born and raised in Corpus Christi.  Hurricanes are a source of concern, but the real danger of a storm like this one, is the potential trailing tornadoes it will drag across the state along with the amount of rain.

This monster can cover half the state of Texas and still get its feed from the Gulf.  Reminds me of Carla in 61, and a little like Beulah in 67.  Beulah spawned 100+ tornadoes, in her wake, once she made landfall.  Like Beulah, Ike is moving slow and carrying a big stick.

The Latest NWS track has Ike down to a Tropical Depression and passing well East of the DFW area, close to the AR/LA/TX border on Late Sunday-Early Monday. I would expect a large wind/rain event in the "Metroplex" that falls short of a tropical storm.

To those on the Texas Gulf coast... I pray for your safety.

All the best bnasty.  We're in Sugar Land and are hunkering down as well.  First Hurricane for the wife and kids.  It'll be a doozy for them I think.  Get's a little frightening when the house and windows literally shake from the winds and that for 6-10 hours sustained.

Unbelievably there are still people on Galveston and surrounding coastal communities.  The storm surge from Ike is going to be really bad.  Winds picking up a bit but tonight after dinner is when it's going to start to get really exciting!  I'll probably try and play online for awhile before we lose power!

what part of sugar land, I'm at HWy 6 and old richmond, north side. I've been through a couple hurricanes a bunch of tornados so i'm not to worried. some of us usually head to the island 3 days before this stuff, weren't able to this time and missed some decent surf.
