There will be a speed slider in the setup for how fast you move around.  That'll let you zip between places if you want.

It takes me at a minimum 10 minutes of shaking my head trying to clear it and wondering what the heck I did to get shot down so badly.
 I'd gladly jump at 5 minutes.

drop it. it's really a very bad idea, and those unnatural runs make me sick after a moment.

on the contrary, the clipboard is a very nice thing, a unique interface to have access to settings, maps, maybe later mission briefing notes ... And flexible too as it can be enlarged/repositioned.

I personally love the scenery around tower.
But its take a time.
With considering the charge or special event, I think this system should be the option.

Make it an option. It is very cool but frustrating as **** to wait and wait and wait... I want to get the action not walk around an airport!

What would be really nice is to see EVERYONE having to walk/run, (rather than the e ticket ride)* to get where ya want to go..

Would also be a nice alternative to the "Fly till I die" syndrome...(would be a deterrant)

Would definately give a new meaning to
"AIR RAID!!!, Scramble Scramble!!"

Would be a lot more immersive.

 Like someone else said, just watching the comings and goings of aircraft is nice on occassion. (after ya been shot down fer the umpteeth time in the last 10 mins.. or just smeared yerself all over the tarmac trying to get airborne in a hurry with an overloaded plane...LOL)

Also, having to taxi to the runway rather than starting on it.. and make a "cross country" takeoff a LOT more difficult and more prone to gear/prop damage..

and
and infinitum....

 

Just dreaming..
