Chaff

Shouldnt Lancs and Ju88s both have a loadout for radar chaff? Its historical at least. Even if it cost some perks it would see use. Enemies might even leave radar up then.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

I kinda like the idea. It would add another dimension to the game.

But can't you imagine the whines! You see this massive blob of an enemy attack on radar and everyone goes to intercept. All the friendlies reach the intercept point and there's only a single Lanc at 20,000 feet - while a real attack that was NOE went to a different base.  :D

The only question is, was chaff used much, or at all, in daylight. Because, presumably, there were observation stations that tried to verify radar reports. At least during the BoB radar and observers were part of the British early warning system. At night visual observation would be difficult, or impossible, and chaff would be very useful. In the day, visual observation would not be so hard except when there was an overcast.

You can still visually confirm it in here... send up a lone spixteen, if there IS a big bunch of 'em and you hear him on ch 200, you know it's real... if he comes back and lands 3 kills, you know it was chaff  :D
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

According to Tillman's book "Clash of the Carriers" (ISBN 0-451-21670-9) about the Great Marianas Turkey Shoot, the IJN CV Taiho sent up a D4Y1-C "Judy" recce plane which used fifteen bundles of aluminum strips to interfere with the USN's air search radar, "shortly before noon" on June 19, 1944.

As Bino goes to ask for it in another thread :P

I think this would be a good idea and it would add another aspect of the game.
