geesh, anyone else notice that not two of them seem to be wearing the same uniform?  No wonder they got their butts wooped....that's a big indicator of readiness right there.

Heh.  Way to poke at our own leadership.  Subtle, and it's something we're all thinking especially after the AF Times notice of last week's mandatory "Blues Monday" policy that somehow never got transmitted down the chain of command to everyone.

I mean, if you don't have starched creases in your combat uniform, how could you POSSIBLY be ready to go to war?  And the Marines with more than one authorized theater-specific camo pattern on their utilities... Chaos, utter chaos!!!!!!!!!!!111onehoorah*cough*

Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

What confuses me is that the narrative above all the pictures indicates that the journalist was traveling with Russian troops. I assume that the majority of the troops shown still with weapons and on the vehicles are the Russian ones. Why would they be in such a hodgepodge of uniforms? Either the claim about who the guy was traveling with is wrong, or the Russians are a bunch of folks that look more like thugs on parade than an organized Army. Something just doesn't compute here.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

There were no Georgians in those pictures. Most of them are Chechnian batalion "Vostok"  pictures.

Mav, I recall reading where many of the troops doing the actual fighting were Georgian seperatists/militias from the breakaway provinces who were being supported/directed by Russian soldiers.
