I used to fly WB's, for four years. Some of the reasons...er the only reason I can see that an outside source such as Dogfighter would edge it ahead is that it DOES have MAC capability. But other than that.........it doesnt compare. So I can only put it down to Dogfiter being a not so AH friendly place....not a good thing for a webpage that is suppose to represent all flight sim...no?

I'm with RedWolf on this one. I second the nomination for AH being the number one Sim around.

LLB OUT!!!!!!!!!

and large community activity surrounding iEN's title (along with a much anticipated new release in the wings which will have a complete graphics overhaul) ultimately led to WarBirds' achievement.

Oh yeah... that make sense. Give it to WB based on what they might get in 2001.

Wonder if the guys at IEN got sore knees and brown sticky stuff on their noses???

Vulcan,

Don't hold back!  Say what you really mean =)

I'd like to see what criteria were used for this "award".  From what I've read it's subjective with no real analysis or comparisons made.

I know I'm biased in favour of HTC.  There's lotsa reasons why I like Aces High over Warbirds, most of which are personal and subjective like the lads at Dogfighter.  Consequently I'll take their opinion with a grain of salt.  They will probably read this thread and think the same.

Geeze everyone forgets that AH is less than 2 years old yet War Curds is what 10 years old? Like comparing a seedling to a 80 year old oak tree.

More like just over a year old!  Compare Warbirds at 16 months old to AH, its like comparing a 1 year old to a 5 year old in growth.

Heres the bottom line.

All things considered, AcesHigh is a the better product.  No point in doing a side by side comparison.

Even Hotseat didnt think WBs would get it (that says a lot for Dogfighter).

Dogfighter has taken a severe credibility hit in my estimation.  Its just too plainly obvious.  I visited WBs last weekend and I tell you its like going from a mansion (AH) to a cheap apartment (WBs).

I STILL look forward to trying out WBs3.

Since we're giving assessments, I would say that WB's still has more of an overall user-friendly product from the stand point of optional terrains and A/C choice.  The rest (Community, FM, Gunnery) is of course all the opinion of the end user.  However, in AH's defense, as mentioned above, 'You ain't seen nothing yet, Baby!".
