I don't think 480mph would be easy meat for prop planes.
262 goes 550...
A P-47 routinely goes above 500mph in dives

540mph, no need to exagerate.

Yes, the Me262 is faster and I have had many prop fighters faster than 540mph.  In fact I have tested high end prop planes to evaluate their ability to dive on, and catch, an Me262.  Even the N1K2-J can create a brief window of opportunity on the Me262.  The Ar234 also has a top speed of 480mph and is most often able to run without difficulty.

The Meteor Mk III would be more vulnerable than the Me262, but calling it easy prey for prop fighters is very disingenuous.  The Meteor, like the Me262, could dive away with relative ease.  In addition the Meteor Mk III would have a significantly better acceleration than the Me262 for much of the speed range as evidenced by its superior climb rate.  The four Hispano Mk II 20mm cannons in the nose might not hit as hard as the Me262's four MK108 30mm cannons, but they would still be quite lethal and significantly easier to score hits with.  I also understand the Meteor turned better than the Me262.

In short, the Meteor Mk III's perk price would be the second highest, and not far behind the Me262's.

If you're trolling... then I'll bite: no it wasnt.   ;)

If he's talking about the P-59, then he is correct, the Meteor was a far better jet than the Airacomet and the US Navy's FR Fireball.

Id love to see this plane added. I cant hit anything with those 4 30mm's, it woul be nice to have a jet with 20's.

Oh and I agree with spikes.

Ju88A-4, Ar234B and Ki-67.

Axis does need more bombers, no doubt.

But talking about the Meteor Mk III does not give it a high priority.

It would be nice to see a Do217, Ju188, He177, P1Y1 "Frances" or H8K2 "Emily" soon.   Even a Do17, He111, S.M.79-II, G4M2 "Betty", Ki-48 "Lily" or Ki-49 "Helen" would be nice.

To be fair, most US props were better than the P-59...  :noid

It's not saying much to compare the Meteor to it.

Who ever stated it needed to be perked?

Just because it's a jet plane, doesn't mean it HAS to be perked.

I left them off because A) they aren't bombers and B) I think the G.55 is just as low a priority as the Meteor Mk III.  Me410 would be very nice, but as I said, it is not a bomber.

Its performance says it would have to be perked.  It is a monster compared to the Tempest, faster, tighter turning and four Hispanos in the nose.
