Haven't flown the IL-2 much, but...

After seeing what happened last night, I'm trying to stay away from it.  Was up against the new T34 tank 3 times in a row last night.  Went in to strafe it with the IL-2 + 37mm cannons and I was killed within 1 second by the mounted MG gun on the T34.

Next sortie he struck fire on the first pass as my blazing IL-2 seemed to be useless.

One more time I go in on it and poof!  After 2 seconds of him firing his MG rounds at me, I explode again.

Is this a run of bad luck or am I missing something here?

T-34 doesn't have a pintle gun..... I've been getting killed my main guns on tanks since the introduction of the Sherman.  Before then it seemed rare.

Dive in at a greater angle where they cannot get the gun high enough to blow you up.

You can shoot down heavily armored IL2s with the hull machine gun.  Its a game man, its a game.

That's amazing, because T34's don't have pintle guns.

He most likely hit you with his main gun. That can only traverse so high, so come in from a higher angle.
