WWII Reenactment
« on: September 20, 2008, 01:51:14 PM »
Here are some pictures of a reenactment that was held on my property earlier today. (Spoiler, the Americans win the war)

This is where the 7 Germans ambushed a 50+ man American convoy.

This was the first year they have done this so it was not as known to the reenacting community. So, The numbers were not as high as they could have been.
They are planning to use our property every year to hold their reenactments so they can only get better.

Not real good at reading the terrain though are they?
One Kraut machine gun nest at the top of the hill and they are all dead  ;)

Is this for a film in production? Or just a local group? Nice shots!

Haha, yea, only 7 Germans were there. Just like the real thing, the Americans were late but had overwhelming numbers.  :lol

Not for film but just a yearly reenactment our town has. That past few years they have only paraded through the streets. This was the first reenactment of an actual combat situation.

Good for you guys.... where are ya'll located, if youa re relatively close by, we can bring the M2A1 Halftrak, M3A1 Scout car, and our Sherman along....

You will have to sign a waiver if you allow the Sherman on property though ;)

The waiver consists of me being allowed to drive it. :aok

This is a group located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania I believe. (PA tags in the pictures? Not sure)
I will let you know when I know for sure.

CO to PA is long drive for a lowboy to haul a Sherman.  Let alone two other light armored vehicles.  If things work well, I'd love to do it... but hell if you want to drive any of them, and are remotely qualified, come out some weekend here Colorado and we do it regularly.  Ya just have to work on them too....   which does involve getting extremely dirty in the true sense of the word.

I drove a Sherman a few times, got about 19 kills to my name this month. :P
I have thought about doing reenacting myself but lack of money has prevented me from doing so. Either 101st Air Borne or the British 1st Air Borne.

I plan on visiting CO next year during the Winter for a snowboarding trip so I'll have to stop by. :salute

Where you at in Maryland Fender?
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
