Hurricane mk I
« on: September 21, 2008, 02:45:17 AM »
Alright, ive been tinkering with the Hurrican I skin, and I hit a nasty snag. Im having a REALLY tough time getting the border between the cammo and the under-surface matched up on both sides of the nose. Ive been using trial and error for hours on end. So, I decided to pop into the game and try to take a look at what others have done and I found this: ALL of the skins look REALLY screwed up in that spot! The best looking is Kweassa's Finnish bird, which is even on both sides, but a VERY rough transition. All of the others are dreadful. So, did they simply not notice this? Or maybe just not want to put the time into it? Or is this an issue with the skin which cannot be resolved until we get an update? Personally I think its the latter, because the other Hurricane I skinners are REALLY great skinners and wouldn't generally overlook something like this. Here is what I mean:

Yes, the Hurri is a really old template and there's not much you can do about the bugs. I would love to skin an updated Hurricane. There's all those interesting surface effects to simulate and it has one of the widest choice of colour schemes of any aircraft in the game.

Thanks, I guess I shouldn't bother trying to find a workaround for that nose and continue with the rest of the bird then!

Yep, Krusty is doing a REALLY detailed heavily weathered version of this. I wasn't planning on submitting this, I was just trying to work out all the kinks before I found a bird to do.
