Any Hurricane Mk 1 lovers
« on: September 22, 2008, 11:46:01 PM »
Been flying this a lot lately. Gotta say I love it. Yeah it's slow as hell, but it turns like a champ, and getting a kill with the .303 is oh so gratifying. Is this a favorite for anyone else? I see a lot of IIC versions being flown, but not a lot of the original...

Eight 303's at just the right distance are pretty devastating.

Unfortunately the 'right distance' is about 100 yards.

That said, I'm a Hurri 1 fan.

Yep, I fly it and other old model planes.  SBD is fun to bomb ships (though the bomb load is small)  I get a lot if kills in them.  A lot of folks see a hurri 1 coming and think easy kill.  They underestimate those 303's.

I do alright with the Mk-1. Eight .303's may not sound like a lot, but a comfortable convergence and concentrated fire really helps.

Yup.  Hurri I and C.202 would have to rank as my two favorites.

Loved to fly this bird back when I was hosting dueling arenas in those glorious H2H days. Always fun dueling a Spit Mk.I with a Hurri Mk.I.

Skoal...too bad you weren't around a few years back when Schatzi was behind the stick of her Hurricane  Mk-1. Once I watched her mince up 3 P-51 D's in about 2 minutes.

You Hurri I lovers really should try out the Sunday European Campaign that will be running the next two weeks.

Hurri Mk I is a great plane, it's underestimated (like the p40 :D).
And, I can't think of a better dueling plane as you can't get the "golden BB" shot with it. :D
