He got off on a technicality.  Ayers himself admitted to doing the things I listed.

Why is it ok for Obama to have ties to this man, a known terrorist?

Liberal's Reply:   Crickets.....

Why is ok for McCain to have ties to those who caused the market flop? All I see is smoke and mirrors. <shrug>

Define "ties".

You can have ties to someone, doens't mean you are responsable for what they say and do.

Animal if you follow the threads of allegations, its liberal blogs trying to create an issue to force Davis to resigne or McCaine to remove him while forceing McCaine into damage control mode. The New York Times reporters who have realeased a peice on this are essentialy saying since the Liberal blog sphere is worked up their version of the truth must be true. If Liberal blogs decided Mother Theresa was in fact Lucifer in drag, not even God giving a prime time interview to clear her name would do any good.

Here is McCaine's statement on this issue:

If you want to quote:

Quote
After a lengthy investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined in 1991 that Alan Cranston, Dennis DeConcini, and Donald Riegle had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB in its investigation of Lincoln Savings. Senators John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment".

If it's poor judgment is what we are after, than, Obama's ties to a known self admitted domestic terrorist, ties to a church that preaches racism and hatred of white people, and his involvement with inner city Chicago slum lords as their lawyer.  Well hell to high water, the guy with a poor judgment almost 20 years ago, who has definitely addressed the current economic crisis head on and is suspending his campaigning is the one I am going with, and that's John McCain.

Mr. Obama is still refusing to drop the debate...  perhaps he'd just like to vote as "Present" again.

I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

Bodhi... with all due respect.... just stop.  I know your entire world is going up in a poof of flames today, as McCan't is going down in history as the idiot that he is.  Our democratic process does not suspend.  It does not yield to the pressure of the world...it rises up and it takes hold of that world.  The debates went on when the Iranian hostage crisis was at full bore, and there was much debate about a much larger conflagration brewing with the Reds....and that debate had a sitting president in it. The debates went on after the USS Cole lay gashed open by a terrorist attack, and the rest of the world held its' breath at our restraint.  I wonder if Mr. McCain will suspend his presidency, whence falls its' first real test.  If this economic problem is really that close to "cratering"....then we all might as well just start eating our money.

The Republicans would have gotten so much more mileage if McCain said.... "I have to go to Washington to address this issue.... Mrs. Palin will continue in my stead, until I return."

YOU DO NOT CANCEL THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.

Today, mark my words, is Mr. McCain doing two things.
1) hitting the reset button, because all the battleground states' polls are falling so far south for him, he's almost an "also ran".  (dropped 8 points in PA, 5 in Ohio, 11 in Michigan...and is now even in Florida..WTF!!?)
2) Finding a way to cancel  the VP debate.  After all, you can't cancel a presidential debate.....there has to be 3, so you can "say" who really won in your opinion.... and the fact they've been keeping Palin in a glass box is telling.  I wonder how her little "foreign policy school" has been going this week?   Her debate with Biden scares the hell out of that campaign. You watch,  The VP debate will be offered up to cancellation due to this "crisis".

Your towing of the party line is admirable, if not misplaced.  I salute your vigor.... but not your blind position.

Here, actually I think McCain was lied to by his own campaign staff.  I think that he's telling the truth, he really thinks Davis didn't get paid for lobbying McCain.  But, when a republican also says, "yeah, he was paid just last month...." one has to wonder.  I think Davis lied to McNugget.... and McNugget is standing valiantly to defend him.  Unfortunately, he still got paid..... just to keep access to one Sen. J. McCain.

Palin interviewed by Katie. Maybe this was the reason for the debate postponement?

People like Ayers are heroes of people like Obama.  And you can look forward to him supporting even more of his ilk if elected.

Bill Ayers

Quote
In 1970 he "went underground" with several associates after the Greenwich Village townhouse explosion, in which Weatherman member Ted Gold, Ayers' close friend Terry Robbins, and Ayers' girlfriend, Oughton, were killed when a nail bomb (an anti-personnel device) they were assembling exploded. Kathy Boudin and Cathy Wilkerson survived the blast. Ayers was not facing criminal charges at the time, but the federal government later filed charges against him.[1]

Ayers participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971, and The Pentagon in 1972, as he noted in his 2001 book, Fugitive Days. Because of a water leak caused by the Pentagon bombing, aerial bombardments during the Vietnam War had to be halted for several days. Ayers writes:

So how is Ayers linked to Obama?  Is he helping to run his campaign?  Is he serving in an advisory role?  If Ayers is a domestic terrorist why isn't he in jail?  I read through what the group he ran did but don't understand what they were fighting for or against or why he wasn't taken to court and convicted.

All I've heard is Obama lives in the same neighborhood, they both served on the boards of a couple non-profits, and Ayers hosted a party.  Perhaps I will continue looking into it but now I am interested in looking into this as well:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obama%E2%80%93Ayers_controversy

Chicago Tribune columnist and editorial board member Steve Chapman suggested that while Obama was "justly criticized for his ties" to Ayers, the coverage of that connection should be matched by equal coverage of John McCain's associating with convicted Watergate burglar Gordon Liddy.[34][35]

Who is Gordon Liddy?
