Bomber Squadrons... AWOL?
« on: September 29, 2008, 11:30:16 AM »
Haven't seen a squadron of bombers up in a while, i know the 100th BGH are on and off and no information about the 484th BG. Are there anymore Bomber squadrons that still run daily raids? 78th FG hasn't ran a bomber escort in about 3 weeks and were getting kinda rusty.

Any thoughts on bomber squadrons now? Are they slowly fading out or what?

Well I just watched some clown up about 7 sets of B-24s, Lancs, one after another, until he finally sunk a CV dive bombing like a Jabo. This seems to be most of the type of bombing I see now. Its gotten worse since you left.

Last night there was a classic high alt HQ raid by the Nits I think. The 484th and 78th are still around and great guys to fly with. I gunned on a formation raid 96Delta put on last night. So yeah there is some realistic bomber flying still around.

I dont know if they are fading. But there is a lot more general Dweebery by the general Dweeb population.

Did they run one as well? Mine was Bish B17's, Lancs & Ponies. The fight that eventually errupted at 30K was well worth it. Whether we even got to the HQ, let alone bomb it ultimately didn't matter. We encountered lots of Ta152's, 262's, Me163's of course, and others.

It is hard to keep the interest of Bomber squads when the bomb site is easy, and the there is little to bomb except airfields to make an impact.

I'm not a bomber guy, but I can understand their frustration.

If any of you would like to go Bishop, thndrEGG runs lots of high-alt bomber missions. Always adds to the realism of the game. :rock

It must have been yours then. A bomber run like that brings a lot of excitement to both sides.
