You never here about Chenney on the news. All the crazy things going on in this world and
you never here "VP Dick Channey is in Iraq trying to make peace" Or "Dick Channey is working hard to
fix the finical problems in the US".

 As powerful as the VP is, what is his input on this whole mess? How come we never here
about him or his opinions or thoughts on world affairs or our economy?

Besides succeeding the president in case of death or incapacitation, the only job the VP has is to preside in the senate and break tie votes.

As the only constitutional job he has as VP is a legislative one, Cheney recently tried to argue that he did not have to answer questions from congress as he was not part of the executive branch, but was in fact a a member of the legislative branch.

From what government disbursement office is his pay check drawn.. and is it the same as the presidents?

Actually he attempted to argue that he was in neither branch.  He wasn't in the executive branch, so he didn't have congressional oversight.... And he wasn't in the Legislative branch, so he had no judicial oversight.  He failed.
