Game freezes after only a few minutes of play...
« on: September 28, 2008, 01:34:07 AM »

Ok, so Im having crazy issues.  First off ever since this new patch was installed my computer freezes randomly while playing the game.  On top of that a few days ago i got this weird checkerboard affect on my screen.  i could partially see the game threw the squares, the others were a bright green color.  I talked to a guy at my local pc repair shop and he said it was probably the video card.  So i went and got a gforce 9600.  looks great!!  But now the game freezes almost right away after starting play.  I know i can run the game with the video setting maxed out and shouldn't have a problem but i tried reducing everything to min settings and still had the problem.  Any ideas?

Could use a DXDIAG output.

Did you clear out the previously installed video card driver(s)?  Are you sure your power supply is up to running the new video card?

skuzzy, i was reading other posts and i am also experiancing the same issues the guys replying under the "wide screen" issues.  I run my computer in my theater room.  Its a 720p HD projector on a 120" diag screen set at 16:9  i have been using the wide screen setup.
