Skin: Spit Mk IXc 412 RCAF D-Day
« on: September 29, 2008, 03:39:25 PM »
MJ255, Spit IXc, coded VZ-S of No. 412 Sqn RCAF, flown by F/O H. G. Harwood, D-Day.

Harwood later suffered an engine failure and belly landed this aircraft near Tilly-sur-Seulles, France on June 11, 1944.  Luckily this was friendly territory at the time.

Standard day fighter paint scheme, code letters were outlined in black to help them stand out against the white invasion stripes.
