The Ghosts of WB 2.6?
« on: February 09, 2001, 06:04:00 PM »
I almost hate to ask this, BUT ...

Is there ANY chance that damage is connection or frame rate dependent?  Something similar to the WB 2.6 'rubber bullet' problem?

Here's the situation.  I've just bombed a field in my Lancaster, and am RTB on the deck.  A Hog ups from a nearby CV and comes up my tail.  He's slightly higher than I am, so I figure I have a good shot at him with both the upper turret and tail turret.

When he reaches 1200 yds I let fly, and to my surprise I immediately register strikes on him.  He's flying as stable as a rock, so I hold the trigger down, figuring he'll be dead long before he gets into firing range.

The range counter s l o w l y drops to 1000, 900, 800, 700 ,600.  All the time he's lit up like a Christmas tree, and I'm wondering why the hell he hasn't fallen into the sea yet!

He reached 500yds and I'm now out of ammunition, both upper and rear turrets exhausted, having filled him with lead for the past 15 seconds!  He closes to 400, fires what appears to be a short burst, and removes both my wings.  He then smartly reverses and flies off.

I log on from Australia, so my ping times are usually about 400 or so.

Pretty confused about this

I wouldn't be surprised that that is the case. I'm sure you will hear a lot of different thing on this one.
