Tell me who flew each plane during the dogfight.
You need to identify Milo's aircraft first, but in the spirit of Good Will I'll tell you the B-17 driver's name: Ed Loberg. ;)

Probably should put your helmet back on now.

Then stop acting the part.  We try to include you, but you erode our patience with your behavior. You behave in a civil manner, we reciprocate. You don't, well...  It's that simple.

Most of the time, we simply ignore you. You want brutal, go tangle with Ack-Ack. ;)

JHC , you are truly lost.

My post was #232 and your post, where you jumped the queue, with a pic was #236. Do you see any guesses between Post #232 and #236? How can someone get 'lost' in ONLY 3 posts?

Good job, Cthulhu!

Glock, that's a German Mistel, with a Bf-109 as guide plane and a Ju-88 as gliding bomb.

Rich, I don't know if that's what you mean, but the C-27A/J Spartan is a derivation of the Italian G-222, a transport airplane. The first examples should have been delivered in September.

EDIT: Geez, Cthulhu, stop living on that keyboard and go to work! :D

No. I didnt even know we were taking on a new Euro plane. I was remembering, oh bout '79, coming out to the flightline overseas and seeing the strangest looking airplane I ever saw. It had USAF markings, and I guess it had come in overnight. Anyway I beat feet, "Love aircraft", to ask some gear-heads what the heck it was. They told me it was a B-57 Canberra and one of the last still serving. At the time Iran was hot as a firecracker and we had all kinds of spyplanes around. I was told the B-57 was tricked out for ocean reco. Anyhoo I was able to see one of the last, if not the last, Canberra on active duty. I believe the Canberra flew in anger in the Falklands and for sure the Indo/Pako wars. It also flew in anger in Vietnam.

Later in life I found out it was one of two foreign designed airplanes we have flown. Along with the Harrier.  :salute

What you saw was probably one of the RB-57's. Did it have an ungodly wingspan?

Some good memories. I got my BSAE back in '78. Jesus, thirty years! :cry

Cc, I misread your post, Rich, sorry.

Yugoslavian Ikarus aircraft, I've found it labeled both as IK-1 and IK-2, can't say which it is exactly. My guess is this is the IK-1, prototype for the IK-2.

EDIT: ok, I'm pretty sure, it's the Ikarus IK-1
