I had a strange but fun Saturday night fighting on the i think Tagmar map.
It was our squad night so we decided to go try capture some bases. Then the weird things started
to happen.
First run we upped some b24s to go flattern a town and field which we did but found a fleet offshore which we promptly sunk.
Next run we was going to do a NOE run so we upped in 110s and flew straight into another enemy CV!so we attacked got killed then re upped
in JU88s and promptly sunk that fleet.
Third run we thought we would try again but from a different field.Supprise supprise we ran into another CV offshore attacked it in 110s then ju88s and sunk it with torpedo's.
score 3 for 3
OK so now we decide to try one last time and jump to our base 93 to go take 92 sitting in tower i hear shell fire,Another CV surely it cant be?
So i up in my 110 and go look see.
What do i find not only a CV but about 30 rooks heading in to the field at wave top level.I put a call out on country channel for help ,call my squad to up and defend and dive headlong in to the incoming rooks.
Well i Didn't last long a 110 against f6fs and f4us but i slowed them down just enough for our fighter defence to get airborne.
From then on it was a hectic 15 to 20 minuets trying to stop the fighters lvts and pt boats that came at us wave after wave, till there CV was dispatched.
Finally there seems to be a lull in the fight and me and my squad leader Spaz0 decide to go and pork the troops at 92 and give us a breathing space.Just for the hell of it i up a cheap me262 and race towards 92 straight in to rooks coming the other way down on the deck, something like 8 c47s with fighter escort.
They must have been counting on the bishops doing the usual thing of leaving the base after they stopped the attack and must have been as supprised as me.I dived in 500 odd MPH and missed the first c47 I never usually fly the me262,so turned to come back, the fighters were trying to head me off but i got one c47 as my leader dived in and claimed another.
By this time Some bishops had re upped and made short work of the remaining c47s and fighter escort.
Finally i landed and at 2am GMT decided it was time for bed.
For the first Saturday in a long time i had a enjoyable Night on Aces High which of late have Been few and far in between.
