Think I have only ever checked my score once and even then it was only due to receiving one of those annoying pms that go like " Your score is rubbish, no wonder I pwned you" etc etc etc, you know one of those times when you are at 100ft with oil dmage and all the rest and someone gets you? One of those times, but I don't pay any attention to scores/ranks or whatever, I just log on and have some fun  :)

Yeah, I find it very revealing that scoring is derided when it suggests competence and relied on when it suggests the opposite. :P

I'm still relatively new to the game. I look at my score ocassionally just to see if I am making any progress as far as skills go. Its a huge learning curve to me, for others it seems to not be huge. Personally I prefer MW and just furballing or defending  from the air. Seems to me that worrying about score is just more pressure that I don't need. I have enough work just trying and failing not to get shot down all the time  :lol

BTW I agree CAP the action between 27 and 30 was slot of fun last nite, for me anyways   :salute

I don't want to think about score anymore

Some years ago, for period lasting a few months, I checked my stats every day (good lord, though, not the rank, that was hopeless).  At the end of this time I realized that focusing on the stats was actually reducing my enjoyment.  I had stopped climbing to a fight, I wouldn't dive into a mass of planes, I would spend precious minutes flying to a distant base to land kills...I was rapidly becoming one of the people I'd made fun of for years.  So I stopped.  Checked for the first time in over a year when I saw this thread....it gave me the shivers and I won't check again!

look at my score in mw. it isn't too bad.
the problem is, i REALLY don't think i'm tht good. i get beaten a lot. i get too focused on a single target in furballs, and thusly, i get picked...and i know it's my own fault at that point. i enter into fights sometimes with a known disadvantage, and pay the price. i take bombers in way too low. i do a LOT of stupid things ingame. my gunnery sucks BIG time.
but.....i do get some good fights against people of similar skill to me, and sometimes i get lucky and win. if i get over 20 hours in in a month, i'm lucky.

score is decieving. i feel that if i wanted, i could "game" the game, and improve it immensly, as i believe others do. i also believe the truely good sticks like akak, murdr, soulsys, lusche, etc., don't give two hoots about their scores, or any of ours. they truely seem to enjoy the fights, win or lose, and it seems they enjoy helping others to improve their skills.

i mostly look at my score page for only one reason. i like to know how well i'm hitting. i'm only 4 to 5% this month so far.....and that too sucks.

anyway, i guess what i;m getting at, is forget score, and enjoy the game. if someone starts spewing garbage at ya and getting under your skin, there's this great feature........the .squelch<player id>. i used it last night, and it made my night sooooo much better.

I rarely capture. I prefer to furball or a great 1 vs 1 or 2 or 3.

I bomb very little.
I attack when being hit by GVs and planes.
I GV terribly.

i bomb when i can't find a god fight.....or when i wanna piss someone off. then i drop their hangars. i know they come back up in 15 minutes, but it still makes me feel better :D

i serve no purpose in gv's other than distracting the enemy so my countrymen can scroe kills :rofl

I have not captured a base or done much more then try to anger the enemy and Im ranked 21. That will change by the end of the month as usual and I still wont care.

I agree with you Tool, defending a base is much more satisfying than taking. It's one thing the LynchMob loves to do. It's such a good feeling to bust up NOEs :aok

Then you'd love staying rook and saying NO! to Joker  :aok

I find it funny the folks who say they are not interested in score... then moments latter are deriding your score and saying your worthless.

If I flew just for rank I wouldn't have any fun at all. I find working with others, especially my squad Rolling Thunger, is most satisfying. Breaking up base takes was my specialty for a while. Now I just focus on what the squad wants to do together mostly.

:aok rank is for the unemployed.

LOL

You'd think so with the amount of work and time it takes to be in the top ten.

You can score well with about 30 hours of fun time play and a few captures really.

Yeah, I find it very revealing that scoring is derided when it suggests competence and relied on when it suggests the opposite. :P

 :lol Another funny quote

It seems some of the people who whine about score and rank usually have limited skill, (or lots of skill but only in one area).... not interested  in base taking at all or maybe not enough time to play and jealous. Somewhere on this BB I said if you limit yourself your cheating yourself no matter what it is you do. This game offers it's players a wide variety of activities to take part in. If you take part in a few, score and rank just happen on their own.

I'll post two more of these later when i get back home. One for fighter and one for bombing and attack. With just a little skill rank is simple really.
