I would prefer the He177, since it gives axis a much needed heavier aircraft with 4 engines - even if it had only 2 props.
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

What? That does not make ANY sense! Its like the big bang with the INFINITE BIGNESS but with INFINITE SMALLNESS! Now, I am NEVER going to be able to sleep. Four engines, but two props? what were the other two engines for? Spinning a chainsaw for close quarters combat?

The DB610 engine on the He177 was essentially two DB605s (the engine that powered the Bf109 and Bf110) bolted together.

IIRC the higher-ups in the Luftwaffe wanted bombers to retain the ability to dive bomb, which limited them to two engines... this is why there are no German 4 engine bombers (technically the DB610 is only one engine thus the He177 is a twin engined aircraft).

:cry  It is a good thing tho.  More hard fought battles to sink the hardened CV is a good thing.
Still easy to kill. Get someone to hit it 5 times with a SB then sink it with 88s.

Didn't some late 177's simply muster 4x db605 in 4 nacelles?
Funny, - th Lancaster was basically born that way, - it was supposed to have 2 very powerful engines (Avro Manchester) but once it was clear that they were not reliable, and the aircraft couldn't fly on one engine, 4 relaible engines were installed instead....voila ce'st le Lancaster.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
