For the version number to go up from 2.x to 3.0 would require some major upheaval in the game, like a total re-doing of the graphics engine or a new damage model, or the release of the Combat Tour, or the introduction of the WW1 arena... The jump from AH1 to AH2 was huge, I don't think AH3 will be released in the next 2-3 years. But then again, HTC might have something totally unexpected planned.
