Calliope would be kinda cool as a weapon loadout, :aok
It was jettisonable from inside the vehicle leaving
you with a standard sherman tank. Kinda handy...

The sherman would be a versatile vehicle, with all the diff
possible weapon loadouts, special vehicles, etc...
Need it?? H**L YES!!!!

But really, all the rocket launchers in the world won't give
us what is REALLY MISSING in the game.... Artillery!!!!

I realize that towed guns would require some game mods
to model correctly... Drone gv's, ammo carriers, spotter vehicles
MORE ACCURATE MAPS, w a grid reference system, etc...
But Arty, is conspicuously missing from the game... When it
was the major casualty producing arm of the war...

8inch Howitzer, M1 please...

This is a great idea.  It would require a regular Sherman which is what makes it great.   :aok

It would be logical to assume that we might get more platforms to use if they are universal.  For instance the Sherman had this variant, different gun variants with the same armor, including a howitzer version, etc.  It is surely easier to code something where only a few graphics are different and the weapon is different than to code a completely new platform.  See T34/76-T34/85 for that.  It would also open the door to the German Armored Car variants, Panzer IV variants that included SP Arty and many more.
