F5 view rocks for viewing dogfights!!

Now, can you make it so I can double click a .ahf file in Windows explorer and it will automatically start Aces High playing that film... even if it isn't in the "films" directory??  That would be cool.

Current system of opening AH, clicking on film, and selecting from big list of films is kinda clunky.

Oh yeah, and can you puh-leaze fix the films from old versions that no longer work??

I doubt they can fix the old films sancho.... it's not JUST a film, it's a record of all the stuff going on in the world.  When you change the way the world works, the record doesn't make sense anymore.

I don't think it would be a simple task to do this.  I'd rather have them spending time building my P-47-M.

Well there are some of us for whom the film viewer is actually used and appreciated... it is one of the best features IMHO of this game.  I have bunches of old films, some made for training purposes, some big films of scenarios (talking 15 B-17s escorted by like 30 jugs--AMAZING FOOTAGE!!).  But guess what, now they just waste space on my HD.

At the very least, it would be cool if HTC coded some "future proofing" in the film system, so that future versions of the game don't break old film files.

I don't bother with films too much right now. The playback just doesn't give you any sort of immersion into the feel of the fight when it happened.

I really don't like the lack of effects in the films either. A lot is missed with no sound and without recorded voice communications, most films become useless for wingman training purposes.

Out of all the things I LOVE in AH, I hate the film viewer. That is one of the things I wish was copied from AW. The playbacks in there were great, including all sounds and vox comminications.

Think I can live without the vox recorder... that would be huge.

What I would like to see is a browse feature on the film selector that would allow you to load films from other directories than  /aceshigh/films/.
