Just be glad you have options.  Up here you either pay an extra $500+ to get a vehicle shipped in or you settle for what they have on the lot.  There is a Ford and a GM dealership plus a smaller used car lot so they kind of have you in a corner.

bought the wife an 08 accord loaded v6 this summer

used edmonds and only discussed "out the door" prices with several dealerships bidding between each other -  they'll pile on the crap to get the price they want, just calling it something else if you negotiate any other price but OTD

started on the interent with a temp email account that I killed after the purchase - saved many miles, phone calls and headaches as I was able to weed out the ridiculous dealerships right off the bat. The process still took months - you have to have patience on your side or might as well grab the Vaseline & your ankles ....

Thanks for the info GE, as always I like your style, but we were out more or less intelligence gathering.  What we do when we buy a new car, as rare as that's been, is go through our credit union who already has contracted prices with the pariticipating dealerships that's usually right at invoice, maybe a little over.  My '96 Camaro was listed at 19.2 or thereabouts, I got it for right at 17 through the credit union, no haggling, no tricks, no BS.   Just went in the CU, signed the paperwork, went to the dealership, and they delivered the car.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised by what I saw tonight as back in the day I used to sell cars but it just amazes me that dealerships do the crap that they do.  Then again there are people stupid enough to pay $40k for a V6 Challenger.

Oh yeah, the other thing that sucks ballz: in order to get the 6-speed manual you have pay $995.  The 5-speed auto is standard.  Bullocks on that.

you thought of waiting, and buying a leftover?

So my wife and I went to a couple of Chrysler dealerships tonight looking at the new Challengers.

I *^%$ing hate car dealerships.

You could have just driven over to the west side, and let me kick you in the balls a few times.

You'd get about the same effect.

I'm a consultant for dealerships. They have to pay me just to walk in the door. Otherwise, no chance in hell.

I've used the dealers against themselves many times.Get your facts strait before you shop, know the prices and stick to them.

I once had a dealer refuse to sell a car over $600 difference, saying he couldn't sell at that price as it cost him that.Long story short 2 days latter I got the car, somewhere else for "my" price.

Helped that I had a check for full price, taxes, ect.when I went to buy.You know that the dealer pays intrest on the cars on the lot and the longer he keeps it the more it cost!! So if possible always buy something off the lot instead of special order since the dealer wont have anything invested in a special order.

1 other tip, look for a fleet leaser, they have dealer licences and often will beat the sticker price.volume is how they make their money.

Anyone buying right now shouldn't have a problem getting a good price, checked car sales lately??

wow thats new Camaro 2SS money

No that's the MSRP new Camaro SS money, then u will have the +$5K of dealership fee, +1.5K of rolling out fee, +$8K rainX rear windshield treatment, and off course ... the dreaded +6K powder coated wheel lognuts option that u never ordered, but u have to get it if u don't want to wait 8 months for ur custom order.

Good laught Diablo, I'll go do the same on Saturday  :lol I'll roll in with my Firebird and my pilot uniform just to see how crazy they'll get.
