Well honestly I don't go to pron sites....they are pointless because if I am going to look at a naked woman I better be able to touch her.  That and I am very good looking with lots of money so if I wants me some I go gets me some...know what I am saying???

Ok back to the problem:
It won't let me restart in safe mode.  When I do try I get a flash of script across the screen then it just reboots normally
When I search for that file I can never find it.
I'll DL spybot search and destroy

go online and look up a program called BOOTZILLA. it will allow you to create a massive boot disk that includes multiple tools on the boot disk. it will help you boot up and start to run the scan and clean up programs you need to solve your problem.

also if you are using a microsoft OS, send their tech guys and email with the name and a brief description of what the bug is doing. if their is a way to fix it they will know it.

GOOD LUCK and keep us posted

It has turned off my auto updates and I can't manually turn it back on.

just for the helluv it....you try to do a system restore? might be able to do that, then reboot in safemode to scan.

Yeah, what Denholm recommended :aok

Oh, and stop surfing Pron  :D

RTR

Hmm I surf XXX sites frequently but never manage to pick up anything. How is it that people who complain about this stuff always seem to surf using IE? Weird pattern there.

Two free pieces of software that many pros rate very, very high...

PC Tools Threatfire: Real time protection against day-one infections. Doesn't compare files to a database, but looks at your computer's activity and stops malware dead in its tracks. Cutting edge technology. Rated 5 stars.

PC Tools antivirus: One of the top 5 rated.

Both are absolutely free and are updated daily, within 5 minutes of starting your machine.

One suggestion though, shut down the antivirus before playing AH2. Right click on the icon in the system tray and click "Shut Down". Restart later using the desktop shortcut. You can leave Threatfire running while playing, it doesn't scan packets and uses little resources. Threatfire will block know bad sites and prevent known threats from infecting your machine as well as stopping day-one threats (the kind that don't show up in antivirus updates for a week or two).

Many will have their favorites, but PC Tools offers the best protection in terms of free software.

Step one;

Go to the local pharmacy and pick up the following item:

One pack of your favorite Trojans.

Step Two;

Remove the Lan cable from your I/O tower,
Remove the Trojan from its packaging,
Un-roll your Trojan and place it on the plug of your Lan cable.

Step Three;

Re-install Your newly modified Lan cable.

Step Four;

Enjoy,  now you can't get a virus. *
