I think it just happens sometimes, and may have more to do with stuff thats out of your hands - numbers/quality of opposition (or indeed your teammates.) Last sunday I landed 18 Spit XIV kills in an hour and a half with no loss and logged quite pleased with myself. The next 6 hours of flight time over the week netted about 6 kills (none landed) and felt like harder work that my 2 week trial.

The major difference was a feeling of going from roughly equal numbers/equal E-states to 1v3+ with a E-disadvantage every sortie, that probably isnt the reality but thats how it felt. Hard to believe that my SA went down the toilet overnight but I have had a head cold so who knows. Now i'm just tooling around in whatever looks fun until my mojo returns

And why do you think that?

Now back on topic, i went through the same thing Latrobe and you know how i fixed it? i played more spent more time in my best killing machine and eventually played through the bad patch now im having one of my best tours as a fighter ever top 90 i believe.

Another thing is you could be trying to hard when you latch on to a bad guy and you really want the kill i always find it takes longer cause your trying to hard.

Same thing happened to me a while back, Then I thought about it for a while and reaized I was making a few basic errors like getting myself isolated and stuck in a middle of an enemy pack, I got too low and often slow too, I was biting of more than I could chew also.
so then I went back to basics, I try and stick with some Squaddies or other friendlies and don't let myself get isolated with no chance of an escape. Think I'm coming through it now, but I do understand your position and I betcha there's a whole rack of folks who have been there too.
